As long as I can remember, I have loved to write. Going all the way back to grade school, I would do my best in school in writing projects, and that followed all the way through University. I have had several blogs on the internet over the last 20 years with over 2000 published posts (and probably half that many deleted, haha).
In recent years I have gotten away from writing, and my skills have diminished in that area. Part of the reason for starting this blog is to get back to something I love and to just write. Blogs are “supposed” to have niches or narrow subjects, but I am a person of many interests. I love photography, technology, sports, hiking, reading, and you wouldn’t know it to look at me currently, fitness to name a few subjects. This blog will probably touch all of those areas, with admittedly a focus at least at the beginning on fitness and health as that is a major area of concern for me at the moment.
My wife and I are a few months away from an empty nest, and with a little luck, I am facing the second half of my life. I have spent most of the past 20 years overweight and out of shape and at some points VERY unhealthy. While I once upon a time wanted to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger (lol), now all I want is to be healthy, and fit enough to not be limited by my fitness levels to hike, kayak, and walk to the end of whatever path I choose to walk down. I also wish to be around long enough to see my unborn grandchildren get married.
This blog will follow that journey.
